1. FFBs is out here

FFBs stand for Fried Fish Balls, which is a kind of Vietnamese fast food that most of teenagers enjoy, and obviously, the group named FFBs ’cause the founders were FFBs addictors hehe. The group was founded in October the 1st 2006. Despite that, me, who is writing this stuff, joined at about Febuary 2007. Therefore the information I let you know about FFBs, which is from my point of view, is just only from that time until now ^^. Besides, if you ask me what purpose that FFBs made up for, you can find the answer above: FFBs is a cosplay group .

Starting to active at the beginning of 2007, their first plan is Naruto cosplay. First working with FFBs in April, as I good as I remember, FFBs was just a small group with 14 members: Won (leader), Kaoru (as Ino), Mellysa (as Sasuke), Wallaby (as Neji), Juria (as Tenten), Hoàng (as Naruto), Cáy (as Lee), Yui (as Orochimaru), Clover (as Kabuto), Tobi (as Shikamaru), Kankuro (as Hinata), Tuấn (as Kakashi), Long (as Gaara) and me (as Kiba). It was like that, or supposed to be like that ^^. However, there’re a lot of change.

The first change is that Long left the group because his parents didn’t allow him to join any activity since they were not sastisfied with his study’s result. Then the next problem they had to face up against is they were confused about what they were going to perform for the drama. They were in a Naruto – a shounen manga cosplay project, but most of the member in FFBs weren’t able to fight except Hoàng and Cáy so they couldn’t make an authentic Naruto drama with lots of fighting scenes. That was such a problem! All they could do at that that time is to practise the dance and prepare the costume. And it was until they worked on the dance that they found out that FFBs must be appropriate with a funny style than pretend to be violent. As a result came up with the decision: perform a fuuny comedy instead of a serious drama .

That problem was solved then came another: FFBs didn’t have Sakura – the main character. However they were easily found her, she had already been in our group – Clover, who supposed to be Kabuto ). If you ask me why she wasn’t Sakura at the very first time she joined FFBs then the answer is: she joined FFBs while the group already had Sakura cosplayer (as I know she was also one of FFBs’s founders), and Clover wanted to be Kabuto. Unexpectedly Sakura left them because she had some problems with her family, or to say in a diffirent way, her family had some problems (and for me, who joined FFBs after she left, still don’t know anything about her), so they lost her, without thinking Clover would be a good Sakura too until that difficult time.

After Long, the next 2 who left FFBs were Tuấn and Tobi. Frankly, Kankuro, Tuấn and Tobi were in 12th grade at that time. I don’t know how it goes on in other foreign country but in Viet Nam, grade 12 means the most difficult time with all students. They had to study very hard and prepare for the most significant test in their life: the entrance test to enter University. Consequently, they let the 3 to concentrate on their study and just expected them to prepare their costumes and join FFBs at the festival after they finish the test. Ironically, having finished the test, only Kankuro took activity with us and those 2 left.

Nevertheless, there’re 3 new joined, they’re: Yu Sama (as Haku), Ginji (as Chouji) and Skywalker (as Kakashi) and they’re all Mellysa’s friends. Furthermore, Skywalker is also a 2000$ director (as he said ), haha), and that fact lead to our new decision: making a clip for FFBs (it’s up to you to believe the fact or not ) ).

And FFBs’s last change for the 2007 project is Won, change her mind and was going to appear in Anko cosplay. FFBs then had 14 members, as I said, they practised a small comedy, a short dance with “Hero’s come back” (Naruto’s OST) and made a funny trailer. In addition FFBs joined SandO Festival 2007 in July, took part in the Cosplay Competition and they won the Impression Cosplay Skill for Cosplay group ^^. (The one who edited those photos is Mellysa. Hence there is a lot of Sasuke’s photo ). When FFBs first took the photos it was on a rainy day so most of the photos couldn’t be used. It was until the day they carried out the video that they retook the photos. Those which couldn’t be used are still in raw and they put them in the “behind the scene” package. You can see those photos some day if they get rid of their laziness and work on them ^^.

All the texts in this clip should have been English but there’re 2 of them are in Vietnamese and I don’t know why, the text after Sasuke but his hand off the tree should be “Don’t think that sasuke can hit any tree” ^^ and the last is “Police!!! Run!!!” ^^.

2. FFBs with Fomikku Fiesta project

After SandO, they had a discuss and most of the members wanted to change. They want to cosplay a new manga instead of Naruto. However, the discuss was failed based on the fact that there’re many ideas were made and nothing went to united. In the end, they decided that our next project would be Naruto Shippuden. For me I think that it’s the best idea, because at the very first time we got together just only for Naruto, not for anything else which we have nothing in common.

Back to the story, after the dicision declared, Kankuro and left FFBs, for some reason, and Toby back as he was interested in the last performance. There’re also some more people wanted to join, and at the end of this project, FFBs had 22 cosplayers.

The project get started when they received an invitation in December to have a cosplay performance in March from the Komikku Fiesta’s organizers, no need to say they’re very happy but it’s a hard choice between accept or decline since most of the members in the group are student and March is still in school time. However after another debate, they answered YES and took steps on the project, knowing that many difficulties were waiting for.

This time they practised a very long performance compare with the last one, include a drama (not a funny comedy) and a dance. As I said it’s still in school year so their practice met lots of problems. With the dance they chose to practice on Tet Holiday as they had free time in that period, and that’s because it’s Tet Holiday so the park, where they used to practise things, closed. Without successfully finding a new place to work, they had to do it on the street (OMG!!! I still remember it. So hot and many people watched us, they think we’re freak. WTF!!!). And for the drama, which was carried out after Tet, they had to cut some scenes based on not having enough time to practise.

Besides that, they also had to manage with the always-changing-stage. The KF’s organizers changed their stage 4 times since they invited them. It’s very difficult for them because their performance had to based on the stage, mostly was the dance so you will see a worst dance ever in the clip I give you below

However, after the festival they received many high appreciations unexpectedly, especially for the drama.

Now it’s time for the photos ^^: they took them to join that festival (Another thing you should know is those photos were not all of the members of the KF project because some people were not able to prepare their costume in time to take photo):

And next is the video clips recorded about FFBs performance in Komikku Fiesta, but firstly I have to let you know about the outline script or you will not understand what they were doing since the camera was too far and the drama was not completely perfect

The performance divided into 2 parts: the first is drama and the left is dancing

Drama ouline script:
_1st scene: Returning back to the Leave Village, Naruto meet his friends and together with Sakura, they have a fighting test with Kakashi
_2nd scene: Akatsuki attack the Sand and kidnap Gaara
_3rd scene: Naruto with some shinobi meet Tsunade to get new mission, they suddenly receive the information about Gaara. Hence, their mission is to find Gaara and bring him back.
_4th scene: On the way finding Gaara, Kankuro come into Sasori, they have a fight and Kankuro lose.
_5th scene: Naruto group by change find Gaara alone, with no Akatsuki nearby. Then they bring Gaara back (I tended to write a script which does not have too much fighting scene cause most of members in our group aren’t good at fighting ^^”)

_6th scene: Naruto return back, report the completed mission to Tsunade. Tsunade congratulate and introduce Sai to him. After that is the small scene: Sai meet Orochimaru (because we don’t have anyone to cosplay Orochimaru then he’s just a shadow)
_7th scene: Naruto and Sakura meet Sasuke, Sasuke tend to kill Naruto but the Kyuubi stop him (The Kyuubi appeared on the screen which was not recored in this video).
_8th scene: Asuma get to fight with Hidan and get killed.
_9th scene: Kureinai visit Asuma’s memorial
